One of the stores I missed most when we moved away from Orange County was Total Wine and More. I remember needing a few bottles of wine for a party and I had no clue how to pick a good wine. I guess choosing a bottle by its label isn’t always the best decision!
The staff at Total Wine & More in Tustin were so accommodating. They allowed me to explain with what little wine knowledge I had, and what I liked and didn’t like about certain wines. That “bite” I didn’t like – well that is called tannin. So they pointed me towards pinot noir and other sweeter reds.
By the time I left the store, I felt like a wine genius.
Since we moved to the Bay Area, I had to go without my beloved wine store.
Until now!
The newest Total Wine & More in Mountain View is at the perfect location off 101 and Rengstorff.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening party to check out the store before it opened last week.
The decor was perfect for Silicon Valley with lots of wood paneling.

Since 1991, Total Wine has been giving back to the community around each store. During the opening party and weekend, donations were given to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.
The champagne toast was Moet & Chandon
If you haven’t tried 21st Amendment ‘Hell or High Watermelon’ – it’s a delicious summer beer.
Plus, Oren’s Hummus Shop was a delightful sight at the party. I am OBSESSED with their soft pita bread and hummus.
