With more sunny days on the horizon, I am excited that I will be able to take Mochi with us to restaurants again. On rainy days, we are forced to sit inside and Mochi can’t join us. If you’re like me and want to bring your dog with you to eat, I rounded up a guide of dog-friendly restaurants in Sunnyvale.
When we moved back to the Bay Area in 2013, the downtown Sunnyvale restaurant scene was pretty small. But with more restaurants popping up because of the large apartment buildings coming in, the little downtown area now has a lot going on! It’s a short walk from our house, but by the time we sit down, Mochi is tired and ready to rest. Giving us enough time to enjoy our meal before he gets antsy to walk again.
If you are looking for a fun brunch spot in Sunnyvale, head to Metro City. This restaurant has a large outdoor area and is very dog-friendly. I like this restaurant for its large breakfast menu, morning cocktails (Peach Mimosas!), and that they have umbrellas to provide shade.
This Mexican restaurant opened up last year, but it’s a go-to place for Ernie and I. They have a few outdoor tables, but people mostly sit inside because there are a lot of TVs to watch sports. I love their nachos and it’s a deal on their happy hour menu. Plus, I love that they greet Mochi and bring him his own water bowl.
This restaurant is actually located inside Prolific Oven! In addition to the classic pastries and desserts, they now have 24 beers on tap! If Ernie and I are feeling a little peckish, we head over to Tap’t because they have a yummy menu of snacks like deviled eggs, fried pickles, and chicken wings. With larger tables, this is a great place to go if you want to eat with a group of friends.
A darling wine bar located on the corner of Murphy street proudly serves Bay Area and local wines. It’s a wonderful place to grab a drink before dinner. Plus, they have plenty of outdoor seating!
The happy hour at Vino Vino is a favorite of mine since it starts at 2 pm! You can’t beat it when it’s Friday and you’re ready to start the weekend a bit early 🙂
If you are ready for spring like Mochi, come out to enjoy one of the many dog-friendly restaurants in Sunnyvale!
