Healthy Pumpkin Spice Smoothie with Protein

pr samples

Tis the season for all things pumpkin spice! Today I am going to show you how to make a healthy pumpkin spice smoothie with protein that is perfect for a quick breakfast on the go.

This spring, I was introduced to Ancient Nutrition and their line of collagen powders. I loved adding a scoop of collagen powder in my morning coffee to start off my day with some much-needed superfoods. It’s unflavored and easily blends into any hot liquid.

After learning more about the company, I found out they are known for their bone broth protein.

BONE BROTH PROTEIN FEATURES:

  • Collagen type II, glucosamine, chondroitin, hyaluronic acid and 19 amino acids
  • Non-GMO
  • Cruelty-free
  • Hormone free
  • Cage-free
  • Allergy-free (gluten, dairy, tree nut, egg, soy, peanuts, crustaceans, etc.)

What is bone broth protein?

Bone Broth Protein begins as a true bone broth liquid. It’s then dehydrated, making it into a concentrated source of high-quality, tasty powder. A quality Bone Broth Protein powder comes with the benefits of a homemade broth, but it’s even more versatile in so many recipes.

To get started with this recipe, you are going to need:

  • ½ Cup Pumpkin Purée
  • ½ Cup Cooked Butternut Squash
  • ½ Teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 12 Ounces Coconut Milk or Water (I used Trader Joe’s Almond, Cashew, and Macadamia Nut Beverage)
  • 1 Scoop of Bone Broth Protein™ Pure

Directions

It doesn’t get any more simple than this! Place all ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth, adding extra liquid if needed.

If you are on the Whole30 diet, this would be a great substitution if you are craving a pumpkin pie milkshake! I wish I had made this when I was going through Whole30 in April, I had such a sugar craving at the beginning of the month.

What I like about the bone broth line of proteins from Ancient Nutrition is that I can add them to my favorite drink recipes and it doesn’t change the taste of the drink. I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to add a protein powder to my smoothie and it makes it chalky.

You can find Ancient Nutrition near you at Whole Foods and Sprouts, but click here to see their complete online store.
