Stitch Fix Reveal May 2016

Stitch Fix Reveal

Where has the time gone? More importantly, where has all my money gone? Oh that’s right, to Stitch Fix

This is my 38th Fix!

Unfortunately in an error in my part, my previous posts (including my Stitch Fix reveals) were deleted, but trust me…I have been a long time Stitch Fix subscriber.

Want to know how Stitch Fix works?

1. Fill out a style profile – you will complete all sorts of questions on sizing, pricing, preferences, colors, etc. You can also write notes about likes/dislikes. Make sure to link your fashion board on Pinterest so your stylist can see what you like!
2. Order your first fix!  Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see your ideal Fix date, Stitch Fix is pretty popular! So I suggest picking a delivery date of your choosing and patiently wait. Your card will be charged a $20 styling fee (about 1 week before your Fix is shopped) however, if you keep any item (one or more) your $20 will be credit towards the purchase(s). Because of this I always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20 for nothing in return. You will receive 5 items (made up of clothing, jewelry, and handbags…and now shoes). If there is anything you don’t want to see in your Fix (bottoms, shoes, jewelry, etc.) let your stylist know!
3. Decide what you want and what you want to send back (in a postage paid envelope)! You have 3 business days to do so – use this time to try everything on, see what you have in your closet that pairs well with it and don’t be afraid to say yes to something that you wouldn’t normally. The best part of Stitch Fix is being able to try the clothes on in your house. See if something you would have originally said NO to, would actually be a YES!
Just a note, this is not a subscription service. You are under no obligation to continue your Fixes or set them on automatic. You can schedule your next Fix when you are in the check out process of the Fix you received.
If you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments section below. Stitch Fix offers an awesome referral package, so much of what you see below will be discounted thanks to awesome people like you trying it out for yourself by using my link. Thank you so much, friends!

1.  Show Me Your MUMU | Kelsie Dress (XS) | $98.00  ReturnShow Me Your MUMU

I have been eyeing this brand (Show Me Your MUMU) ever since I saw Bri from Design Love Fest wearing some of their pieces…even attending the founder’s wedding! I really wanted to love this dress, but unfortunately I didn’t feel comfortable enough to wear this dress outside in the real world. I felt pretty confident while in my backyard, but seeing friends? I would be hella nervous to wear a cactus dress in public. I would definitely want to wear this dress again in a different pattern.

2. Market and Spruce | Maeby Knit Dress (XS) | $58.00 KeptMarket and Spruce Maeby Knit Dress IMG_6576

I wasn’t totally in love with the elastic around the sleeves, but I loved this dress. I needed a dress where I could just throw it on and go on hotter days. This dress looks adorable with a denim jacket and sandals! Perfect for work or weekend. Easy yes!

3. Dolce Vita | Delia Open Toed D’Orsay Flat | $90 ReturnDolce Vita Delia Open Toed Flat

Did I need another pair of shoes? Not really. It would have been easy to keep these sandals if I was keeping everything else, but in this case…it was a no.

4. Margaret M | Emer High Waisted Trouser | $98.00 Return

5. Pixley | Lagio Mixed Material top | $58 | ReturnIMG_6591 IMG_6593

I had wanted more professional attire for work. Heck, if i am being honest, it’s for interviews. So I needed more “work” clothes instead of my “start-up” wardrobe. Dress for the job you want, right?

Well, this outfit was kind of a hot mess on me. I felt like I could definitely go down a size on both of the items. Which was my fault for not updating my style profile for the correct sizing. But honestly, I felt like I wouldn’t have liked these items even if they were a smaller size. I am not the type of girl to wear lace, and I feel really uncomfortable of out jeans. I really don’t know how to handle myself when I wear a professional outfit! For me, if I don’t feel amazing in the clothes, it’s not a winner.

So this Stitch Fix was not a winner. I mean, I got a nice dress out of it, but I wasn’t giddy about it. Next month I am looking for shorts, rompers, and dresses. Let’s see what I get in my next Fix!

I am actually wearing it today! I had seen it before on clients in different patterns. This dress is even perfect for the winter to wear leggings underneath! Hopefully more patterns will come out again 🙂
