This year to celebrate Ernie’s birthday, we decided to stay in town and have a mini staycation at The Clement Hotel, an all-inclusive boutique hotel in Palo Alto where no detail is overlooked.
Our experience began a week before our check-in date when the hotel concierge emailed me to inquire what we would like stocked in our suite. To surprise Ernie, I had his favorite items waiting for him – Mai Tais and Sour Cream and Cheddar Ruffles! No judgement.
When we walked into the hotel, we were greeted like family from the hotel concierge, Bernie. With champagne in hand, we had a tour of the entire hotel before walked to our suite.
The Living Room
The tour began with Bernie showing us the living room that had ample seating for cocktails by the fireplace. Since the day was unusually cold for May, this looked really inviting to have a glass of wine by the fire!
Opening up to the dining area and connected to the open kitchen there is a guest pantry that is available 24/7. No matter what time of day, head to the kitchen for a snack, drink, or meal!
The Kitchen and Guest Pantry
I was blown away by this kitchen! Since we were arriving at the hotel around 3 pm, we were greeted by the kitchen stay who were ready to make us anything we wanted to eat. I was tempted, but I knew we had Ernie’s birthday dinner coming up, so I had to pass for the moment.
As it was raining, our tour of the pool area was cut short. But there are private cabanas, pool, and a hot tub. I can only imagine how fun this hotel would be in the summer, with a cocktail in hand!
If working out is your thing while on vacation, there is a well-appointed gym that has everything you need for a full workout. Treadmill, elliptical, bikes, free weights, yoga mat, and more.
When we arrived
Our jaws dropped. I had never stayed in a suite like this.
Heated floors in the bathroom, Matouk linens, Frette towels & robes, soaking tub, Nespresso Vertuoline coffee machine, separated living room, push button blinds, 65″ Samsung tvs, the list goes on.
As I mentioned before, no detail is overlooked.
Ernie and I never have stayed in a hotel where we didn’t want to leave!
But, we did have a dinner to attend to celebrate the birthday boy.
After dinner, Ernie and I walked back to the hotel and was once again greeted by Bernie, who mentioned that he was trying to drop off a birthday cake to our room but the ‘do not disturb’ sign was on the door.
So instead, he asked if could bring the cake out to us in the kitchen.
That’s when I knew this hotel was magical. There at 10:00 at night, Bernie and I sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Ernie in a chef’s kitchen in the most glamorous hotel we have ever stayed in. It was so fun and so memorable!
This all-inclusive hotel has just 23 one bedroom suites, so you feel well taken care of by the hotel staff.
At The Clement Hotel you are our personal guest, not a hotel customer. Sign once when you check in and put your wallet away for the rest of your stay. There are no checks to sign, and no tips to hand out, because everything – all food, beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), valet parking, internet access, etc. and tips are included in the room rate and the 5% service charge.
We had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again soon! If you are staying in the Palo Alto area, I highly recommend the Clement Hotel for your accommodations.
