The Very Best Travel Hashtags

Forget the rumors. Hashtags are not dead! I am opening up to share the very best travel hashtags, just in time for your spring break photos.

The very best hashtags to use on Instagram. Perfect for spring break travel photos!

Why you should use hashtags

When you post a photo on Instagram, it’s important to immediately add (up to 30) hashtags on the photo or in the comments. Hashtags are split between popular and recent, so you want your photo to show up on the recent photos side.

Categorize your photos

What I have learned from my hashtag strategy is that not everyone tags their photos with the proper hashtags. For example, it can be pretty annoying if when a hashtag category like #buzzfeast (a popular food feed) and someone posts a picture of their pool or a selfie. That being said, make sure your photo falls into the correct category of the hashtag.

Tip #1

On my phone, I keep a list of hashtags on my Notes app, separated by categories. This way, I can easily copy and paste the hashtags I want to use!

Tip #2

After a photo is posted, go through the hashtags and interact with those who have also recently posted. To do this, click on the hashtag and click over to “recent”.

Tip #3

Stumped on finding new hashtags? Take a few of your favorites and Instagram will show you suggested hashtags in the search section.

Travel Hashtags

Here are my favorite and vetted hashtags that will get your photos seen!

#femmetravel #sheisnotlost #girlsborntotravel #thetravelwomen #wearetravelgirls #globelletravels #sidewalkerdaily #dametraveler #myfavtourlina #travelawesome #travellushes #followmytravel #ladiesgoneglobal #girlslovetravel #darlingescapes #traveldeeper #mytinyatlas #tlpicks #theglobewanderer #unlimitedparadise #planetdiscovery #vacationwolf #forahappymoment #theprettycities #flashesofdelight #exploringtheglobe #visualoflife

Thanks for the tips – there are some here I’d never seen before. I’ve got a load of hashtags saved in my Evernote to use but I switch between them all a lot. I’ll see how these go as growing my instagram is one of my goals at the moment.
