Three Months with Rent the Runway Unlimited

In October, I made the leap and tried Rent the Runway Unlimited to spruce up my winter wardrobe and to break out of my clothing rut. Here is my three months with Rent the Runway.

Since my company was acquired in August, I have been working remotely from my home office. Which, if you have ever worked from home, can very easily run into days of endless PJs and workout clothes. Once I didn’t have to be in an office every day, I quickly moved into the world of lounging clothes and leggings.

So, to make getting ready for the day a little bit more fun, I subscribed to Rent the Runway.

What is Rent the Runway?

You may have heard or even used Rent the Runway for formal events like weddings and prom. But they now have an entire line of designer clothes and accessories you can rent for all of your everyday needs.

There are three subscription plans for Rent the Runway.

Rent the Runway Reserve

  • Starting at $30/rental
  • Rent pieces for 4 or 8 days
  • Book for tonight or months from now
  • Free returns and backup size

Rent the Runway Update

  • $89/month
  • Select 4 pieces for your shipment
  • Exchange for new pieces each month
  • Free shipping and insurance

Rent the Runway Unlimited

  • $159/month
  • Rent unlimited pieces on rotation
  • Swap pieces anytime, no return dates
  • Free shipping and insurance

I chose the unlimited plan because I wanted to be able to have the flexibility to change out the pieces whenever I wanted. Which actually came in handy when a piece arrived and didn’t fit or wasn’t my style.

My favorite pieces

My first shipment came at the perfect time because I was going into back to back work trips. I was scheduled to be in Florida and then in Colorado. Which in October, was two very different climates!

I pulled pieces that would be great for a humid week in Florida and then I would be able to layer items for Colorado.

So far, I am absolutely loving Rent the Runway for my clothing needs. It actually has stopped me from shopping so much, because I can find what I need on RTR.

For example, I am going to the Bahamas at the end of the month for a company retreat. Of course, it’s cold here in California but it’s going to be nice and sunny on the islands.

Instead of shopping for vacation items, I am going to pull pieces that I can take on my trip.

I am excited to see all of the new pieces that will be coming out this spring. But in the meantime, I am having so much fun wearing teddy coats, fuzzy sweaters, and designer tops!

Love all the items you posted about. When RTR came out they didn’t carry anything in my size, but I just checked out the website and I need to give it a shot! Super cute stuff and it comes in my size now! Loved the post!

Aw, thanks, Lauren! I am glad to hear they are adding more inclusive sizing. If you do try it, always look at the reviews since that really helps to know if you need to size up or down for the item!

Sounds like it was a good experience. I like the idea but it’s tough to justify the price for doing it unlimited. I like the dresses you picked.

I know the price point isn’t for everyone to keep up with the Unlimited package. But it’s worth it if you have a big event and need a fancy dress for a one-time rental!

Love all these outfits (especially that boucle coat!). Rent the Runway was SO helpful for me when it came to wedding events (rehearsal, parties, luncheons). It’s exciting to wear some of those super expensive pieces too 🙂

This is the first time I have kept an item for a while. But this boucle coat is too good to send back!
