Summertime and lemonade go hand-in-hand. Tart and sweet join together to form the holy grail of summer drinks! But like every great thing, there are ways to ruin it.
Remember those terribly sweet, spiked lemonades that happen to be extremely popular at college parties? You know the ones. I sipped one recently and could hardly believe I used to drink them!
I like the idea of a refreshing lemonade cocktail, but I wanted to find a way to make them with less sugar. I don’t generally purchase flavored spirits, but when I saw Smirnoff’s Blueberry Vodka, a light bulb went off. Why not make my own?
My husband and I love drinking La Croix. We’ve (mostly) kicked the pop habit but there is something refreshing about carbonation. La Croix is not only delicious on its own but it is also the perfect addition to cocktails. It’s a great replacement for tonic water in any recipe (my husband makes Gin & Tonics with them). You get flavor and carbonation without the added sugar. La Croix adds that little something extra to these blueberry lemonades with vodka.
This cocktail is a perfect drink to serve at summer parties because the ingredient list is low and it looks beautiful in a glass!
Recipe | Serves 1, 6 oz glass:
3 oz Lemonade (we used Santa Cruz Organic, which still has more sugar than I’d like to have included)
2 oz Blueberry Vodka (we used Smirnoff)
1 oz Lemon La Croix
Handful of frozen blueberries
Combine the lemonade and blueberry vodka in a shaker or Mason jar with a secure lid. Shake well. Poor over ice. Top with Lemon La Croix and garnish with a few frozen blueberries.
Happy Sipping!

This looks delish.. I am obsessed with la croix, since I get bored with regular water.
Isn’t La Croix the best? It took me a bit to get used to them but now I’m a total convert.

Super easy!
This looks so refreshing and I bet you could practically substitute with any berry and it would still be fab!
I imagine raspberry would be really good. Possibly make your own raspberry compote?
Looks perfect for an evening summer cocktail!
Exactly! It’s really refreshing and light for a cocktail.
Cheers!! 🙂

I have not ever made my own cocktail, but this looks delicious! I’m a big fan of La Croix, especially the coconut flavor!
